Trying to Change Reality

I have heard it said that you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig. To take it one step further you could call a pig a horse, but it would still be a pig. We can't change reality by changing the words we use about something. We need to be honest and call a spade a spade. If we try to fool others, we are just fooling ourselves, if we think we can change reality.

In fact, it is even worse than that. God is against anyone who tries to change reality as He designed it. (Isiah 5:20) The Bible says, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." That sounds pretty clear to me. What about you, what do you think God thinks about that?

People want to do away with sin by saying we are not doing wrong when we do those things, but we are doing good. They feel the guilt of their sins when they are convicted by the Holy Spirit, but they do not want to cease sinning. Therefore, they call evil good. At the same time they don't want to do what is right, so they call good evil. They get everything wrong, fight against God's reality, and He fights back with them.

We need to accept God's light and not call it darkness. The Bible is light, it is not darkness. It is not leading people in the wrong way. They can say that all they want, but the Bible is still true. They can try to say that living the wrong way is sweet, but it is still bitter, and all who try to go that way will taste the bitterness. They may lie and say it is sweet and good, but they are only lying to justify their sins. God sees all of this and He is always going to fight in favor of showing us reality.
