Look to Your Maker
Let's just get back to the basics today. I believe that is a very healthy thing for us to do. It helps us get our bearings straight. It helps us make sure that our priorities are what they should be. It keeps us from missing the real meaning of life. Let's remember that we did not get here on our own. We have a Maker. No, we do not just have two parents. All of us have one Maker, or no one would be here.
Isaiah wrote about a day when God would show Himself to the people of Syria and Israel. He would get their attention in His wrath. (Isaiah 17:7) Then, in that day a man would look to his Maker, and his eyes would have respect for the Holy One of Israel. We need to have a day like that right now. People are looking to everything in the world for what they think they need, but they all need to be looking to their Maker.
Doesn't it make sense that the One who made us would be the One would know us best and know what we need the best? That is why belief in evolution leaves people rudderless on the ocean of life, tossed here and there, never finding the real meaning of life. There is no reasonable explanation for our existence except that an All-wise, All-powerful intelligent God created us and everything else. Therefore, He should be the One we look to every day for direction.
Also, we should be able to see from God's inspired Word, the Bible, that the Creator God is the Holy One of Israel. He made a covenant with Abraham, and He created a people to honor Him. They have not always done His will, but He is still working through Israel to bring about His perfect will for all of mankind. He sent Jesus to be a Jewish man, a descendant of David, and to be the Messiah for all people. We need to respect the Holy One of Israel and follow Jesus each day, as we look to our Maker for salvation and all we need in life.
