Shining like Stars
We call those people in the entertainment industry "stars." I am not sure how that got started, but I suppose it had to do with the lights and glitz of the movies and musical productions. The fact is that some of them might be stars in the eyes of many people, but they are not stars in the eyes of God. They are leading people the wrong way, instead of in God's way, and one day they will burn out.
There is a great truth which we are told in the last chapter of the book of Daniel. (Daniel 12:3) "Those who have insight will shine like the glow of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." Think about that for a minute.
We can really be bright shining lights for the good of the Lord and His kingdom. It isn't that we have to be famous. The fact is that all we have to do is to have insight. Insight is being able to see things clearly as God sees them and share that perspective with other people. Also, we will shine for the Lord, if we lead many people to righteousness..
These are two things that any believer can and should do. We should study God's Word to know His mind and His ways, so we have insight to share with others to help them in their lives. Also, we should be ready to point everyone we meet to Jesus as Lord and Savior. That is the only way for them to become righteous. If we do these things, our light will not go out but shine like stars forever and ever.
