The Lord is There
Where would you choose to live if you could live anywhere? I know that includes a lot of options, and it might be hard for some of us to choose. Some of us might look at the climate, while others considered economic factors. However, let me emphasize that it could be "anywhere." What would be the best place to be?
The book of Ezekiel ends with a single verse describing the city God will create for the Millennial Kingdom. (Ezekiel 48:35) It tells us that the city will be eighteen thousand cubits in circumference or about six miles around. The name of the city will not be Jerusalem then, on that day it will be "The Lord is there." I would say that would be the best place to live during the 1,000 year reign of Christ on this earth, what about you?
Of course, my question about choosing anywhere we would like to live was kind of a trick question, but not really. If we had a choice, which we do, we should choose to live where the Lord Jesus lives. Right now, He is in heaven waiting for all of us who know Him to come to the place He has prepared for us. That is my choice, for sure. Then, when He returns to earth, all believers will come with Him to reign with Him for 1,000 years before returning to heaven with Jesus.
Right now, we ought to want to live in the center of God's will, wherever that may be on this earth. It doesn't matter about the climate or the economy, if we have Jesus with us. He has promised not to leave us or forsake us, so if we know Him and walk with Him, we can live in Jesus' presence from now on for eternity. I pray all of us will make that choice.
