God's Directions for Government Officials
We are in the midst of an election cycle in the United States. All of this is happening as we see our culture breaking down in so many ways. People are looking to the elected officials to bring some order out of the chaos of our times. There is a lot of talk, but we need action to bring our country back to Biblical values and morals.
The Lord's instructions for the princes of His people give us some good guidelines for our elected officials today. (Ezekiel 45:9) God told His princes that they were to get rid of violence and destruction. They were commanded to practice justice and righteousness. They were to revoke their evictions of His people. I believe there is truth there for us today.
Law and order must be the foundation of a stable society. If we are not safe from violence and our property protected from being destroyed, we can't live normal, productive lives. Therefore, we need for our elected officials to take the steps necessary to provide the police with the ability to get control in these areas. There has to be a fair system of justice that punishes criminals and promotes righteous behaviors.
There must be an end to the evictions of the people. To state that in a positive way, we must be able to have a place to call home, where we can build our lives and raise our families without the fear of losing them. This takes a stable economy, so we have the financial resources to care for ourselves and our property, as we do our best to work hard at our job. Let's pray for God to bless us with elected officials who will follow His ways.
