Taste and See

There are two different ways of cooking.  Some of us follow the recipe and trust that it will taste good. That is what I do. Others of us taste the food as they are preparing it to ensure it turns out good. Either way, when we sit down to eat, we will taste and see if it is good.

This is a good analogy for our daily relationship with the Lord.  (Psalm 34:8) What we have to do is to take our time to taste the Lord, to savor our time with Him. Then, we will see that He is good. In fact, when we take refuge in Him on a daily basis, like we eat each day, we will be truly blessed.

Some of us, as Christians, know the Lord, but we are too busy and stressed to stop long enough to spend time with Him. When we neglect that time, we get a bad taste in our mouth that won't go away. We are dissatisfied with life.

However, when we take regular time with Jesus,  we will taste His goodness and be assured that He is always good to us. We can always take refuge in Him and be blessed. It is His nature, but we won't taste it, until we go to Him and learn about Him personally.
