Cease from Anger

There is one temptation that can hit us at any moment of the day. If we give in to it, we will fall into all kinds of problems, and it will rob us of our joy in the Lord. That is why we must always be on the lookout for it, so we can allow the Lord to help us defeat it before it gets us.

David realized this great truth, so he was inspired to write it for all of us. (Psalm 37:8) The Lord commands us to cease from anger and abandon wrath. Also, He commands us to not get upset, because these things only lead to evil doing.  This is great wisdom for all of us.

Now, we know that if God commands us to do something, it is entirely possible.  He will give us the power we need, since He knows we can't do it ourselves. We must trust Him and know we can do it, or we will fail.

That is especially true with anger. If we think it just happens, and we can't stop it,  we will fall into it and all the evil it causes. We must cease from anger, just eliminate it by allowing the joy of the Lord to pick us up and live above anger. Then, we can live without being upset and the pain it causes us.
