No Turning Back
When the Christian life gets hard, it is easy to get discouraged. Satan is very wiley, and his attacks on us can be very painful. This is especially true when people turn against us. We may just want to give up, but we must never give in to that temptation.
The psalmist experienced the attacks of enemies. It seemed all was going against God's people. (Psalm 44:18) However, their hearts did not turn back, and their steps did not deviate from God's way. All of us as Christians need to have the same resolve.
The way to heaven is narrow and straight. Once we start down that path by trusting Jesus, we have all kinds of tribulations and trials. We must stay faithful to Jesus and never allow our heart to turn back to the broad road that leads to destruction. A true Christian will never turn back.
Also, we must not let our steps deviate from the way of our Lord Jesus. He went through a lot of pain and suffering, but He did the Father's will. We must be determined to walk as Jesus walked, not deviating from His way. Then, we will find victory in life by His power, and we will be very pleasing to our Lord.
