Bursting Out in Songs of Thanksgiving
Do you ever just burst out in a song? I think we all do that from time to time. Maybe, it is a song from our childhood or youth. Perhaps, it is a very meaningful song that has stuck in our mind and our heart. However, as Christians, we should have hearts so full of thanksgiving that we burst out in a song of thanksgiving to the Lord on a regular basis.
David definitely did that, and we read it in his psalms. (Psalm 28:7) The Lord was his strength and shield. David trusted Him with all his heart. God helped David constantly, and his heart was filled with joy. David would just burst out in songs of thanksgiving. I pray this is our testimony, too.
We must realize that we can't be strong enough to handle our problems and to protect ourselves from enemies. Then, we must turn to the Lord as our strength and shield. He will take care of us, as we depend on Him in faith. It has to be a total dependence, trusting Him with all our heart, not just partial trust.
Then, when God helps us, we should be filled with joy. God's joy is when we know that everything is going to be fine because of Him. When we have that confidence, we should burst out in songs of thanksgiving, because He is worthy, and thanksgiving should be the attitude of our heart all the time.
