Helping Our Brothers and Sisters

We all need help all of the time. We may want to act strong, and we may say we can do it all by ourselves, but that is not reality. We all have weaknesses, and we all need the help of others from time to time. God makes this very plain in His Word.

Even Joab, David's army commander, knew he might need help in the battle. (I Chronicles 19:11) He told his brother, "If the Arameans are too strong for me, then come over and help me." Also, He added, "If the Ammonites are too strong for you, I will help you." That is a great plan for war and the daily battles we all face.

No person is an island. We cannot cut ourselves off from other people and prosper. That is why Jesus ordained the church. We are a family. We grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Each of us needs to help others, so we all grow to be like Jesus.

Let's face it, the enemy is strong. Satan is smart and powerful. He knows how to attack us at the point of our weakness. We need to rely on the Holy Spirit to defeat him, but we also need other believers to pray for us and to even come beside us to encourage us in the battles. Please, don't try to live the Christian life by yourself, and please, help any brothers and sisters you see that are struggling in their lives.
