The Best Way
These days when we want to go somewhere, often we get out our smartphone and ask for directions. The answer might show us the fastest way, or it could give us several options. We have to choose the way that is best for us. However, when it comes to life and getting where we need to go, it is much better to go God's way. His way takes all of the factors into consideration and gets us to the right place in the right way and at the right time. That is what God did for Israel when He brought them out of Egypt after tenth plague. He did not take them the short way, which would have taken them through the Philistines' land, because He knew that if they encountered war, they would change their minds and return to Egypt. (Exodus 13:17) What road of life are you on now, and why are you on it? We should all think about this very seriously.
The basic question is, "Are we following God's way for our life, or are we going our own way?" If we don't consult with God in prayer and listen to what He says, we will get off His path for our life. That will cause us all types of problems. God knows our heart. He knows our weaknesses and our strengths. He knows when we are ready for challenges and when we need to grow before we can overcome problems. He always tries to get us to go in the way that is best for us, so we are prepared every step of the way. Sometimes, He even leads us through trials, because He knows we need to learn a lesson. Think about where you have come to in your life now? When we do that, we should be able to see God's hand in every twist and turn of our lives. We should be able to see why He led us in the way He did. If not, we may have missed His way. I pray that for the rest of our lives, we will take God's way which is the best way. Things go so much better when we do that.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 14-16.
