Taking People to God

God gave Moses all of his elaborate plans for the Tabernacle where He would live among His people, Israel. It was a tent, but it was very beautiful, and God described every part in detail. He told Moses how to make all of the furnishings, as well as, the clothing for Aaron and his sons, who served as priests. The Breastplate worn by the priests had stones on it that had the  names of the 12 sons of Israel. That way, every time the priest went into the Tabernacle to serve the Lord, he was taking the names of the people into God's presence. They were carried in over his heart, so that he would always remember who he was serving. (Exodus 28:29) I believe there is a message in this for us, as believers, today.

Now, under the New Covenant, all believers are priests before God. We have access to the Father through our relationship with the Son, Jesus Christ. We can pray directly to God without having a human priest. We also are given the assignment to take people into the presence of God. That means, we are to share the truth of the gospel with them, and show them that they can enter God's presence, too, if they will trust Jesus. We can also, intercede for others, since we are priests with access to God. We are to keep this on our heart all of the time, so we are constantly trying to usher people into right relationship with Jesus Christ. We must never forget that this is God's mission for us, and we must never stop loving people with the love of Christ.
