Our Relationship with God
God wants to have a close personal relationship with each of us. That is never in question. The ball is in our court. If we are to have a close relationship with Him, we must surrender in repentance and faith to the Lord Jesus. Then, we must be determined to walk with God each day, growing closer and closer to Him. That is the way God designed for us all to live. That is just how Moses lived his life. He put his sincere faith in God, and He was fully engaged in a true daily relationship. When Moses prayed, God heard him and answered his prayers, because He knew him well, and Moses was special to Him. God knew Moses by name. (Exodus 33:17) I wonder if God would say that about our relationship with Him? If not, what needs to happen?
God wants us to know Him, and He wants us to open our hearts to Him, so that He knows everything about us. Yes, I know that God knows everything about everyone. I am referring to having a close relationship with Him, so that we open every room of our hearts and share with Him everything that is going on in our heart and mind, seeking His direction. When we do that, it pleases God so much. We become one of His special friends, not that He needs us, but He wants to have that special relationship, since His nature is love. He comes to know us by name, in the sense that He thoroughly knows who we are. That is what a name or knowing a person by name means. We are on a first name basis, is what we would say. When this is true, we pray to God from a pure heart, and He knows we want what is right and best, because we want what He wants. Then, He answers our prayers just as we pray them. What a joy that is for any person!

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 34-36.
