Respect for God's Word

When God speaks we all need to listen. This applies to those who believe in God and those who don't choose to put their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Hopefully, we have all seen that God's Word can be trusted, so that we have respect for what His Word says to us. If we do not take God's Word seriously, we will have all types of troubles. That is what happened in Egypt when God was speaking through Moses and Aaron. The people of Egypt who respected God's Word took steps to protect themselves, their animals, and others from God's terrible hail. The others didn't take God's Word seriously, so they suffered harm and loss of life. (Exodus 9:20,21) I wonder where we all stand when it comes to God's Word?

The Bible is God's inspired Word, so it is without error, and it always leads us in the right way, as we understand it correctly. Also, God speaks to us at times when we pray and we listen to what He has to say to us. It is not audible speech most of the time, but it is very clear. We all have the choice to respect the Bible or not. If we see that God's Word is truth, we will obey it, and we will see that it is the right way by the results we receive from our actions. If we do not take it seriously, we will suffer, because our beliefs and actions will be sinful, and we will receive the consequences of our disobedience. This is equally valid when God speaks to us. We must obey, or it is a sin. I say this, because even many believers do not respect the Word of God. They know what the Bible says, or they know what God has said to them, but they go another way. They do things their own way. Then, they wonder why their lives are not going well. I pray we will all respect God's Word and enjoy a life lived by His instructions.
