A Great Life
How would you describe your life? I know many of us would say that we have had a good life. Of course, we all have mountaintop times and deep valleys, too. Life is always full of changes, and things can change very quickly. The main thing is to know the Lord and to follow His plan for our lives. That is what Jacob had done, since he put his trust in the Lord on the way to Haran, running from Esau. When he got to Egypt, he not only got to see his long lost son, Joseph, but he got to meet Pharaoh. It may have been a short meeting, but before he left, Jacob blessed Pharaoh. (Genesis 47:9,10) That is something for all of us to consider.
Jacob's life may have been short and hard compared to his ancestors, but he had been very blessed to know the Lord and to be used by Him to begin the 12 tribes of Israel and to lead them. He was spiritually rich and powerful. That is why he could bless Pharaoh. The lesser was always blessed by the greater in Bible times. That means that Jacob was greater than the most powerful and wealthy ruler in the world at that time. Think about that. If we know Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are more wealthy and powerful than any ruler in this world. Also, we can bless anyone else, because we are a child of King Jesus. We need to not only see that is possible, but we need to make that a practice. We can bless every person we encounter by sharing the Lord with them or sharing what God has done for us. We can bless them by praying for them. We have that position before the Lord and the ability to do just that. Now, what kind of life do you have? If you know the Lord, you have the best life possible.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 50 and Exodus 1-2.
