The Worst Sinner
Who was the worst sinner in the history of the world? I would say there are many candidates that stick out. Of course, Hitler was a notorious sinner for slaughtering so many of the Jews and all of his aggression in World War II. Stalin was very ruthless, as well. Charles Manson was a man who was very evil, and he had an terrible plan to bring destruction to others and to our country. Nero was a horrible person who killed many Christians in barbaric ways. Which one was the worst? I am not sure, but I know that the apostle Paul claimed to be the worst sinner. (I Timothy 1:15) He did commit murder. He tortured Christians, and fought against Jesus. However, I think there is more to his testimony that we need to hear.
Paul was zealous for the Lord Jesus, and he did everything he could to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. He endured much persecution, imprisonments, and even a stoning. He never quit sharing Jesus until he was beheaded in a Roman prison. Why was he so relentless, and so many other believers are so lukewarm? I believe it is because he thought of himself as thew worst sinner, and that made him very thankful for Jesus coming into the world to save sinners. Since he looked at himself as the worst sinner, he knew he owed Jesus all of his life, and he knew Jesus could save anyone if He saved Him. Isn't that how we all should look at life? We should not try to think that we are better than others. I know that for sure. One sin separates us from God, and He is the only Judge of who is the worst sinner. I pray we will all adopt Paul's philosophy about being the worst sinner, so we will be the best witness for Jesus we can be.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Timothy 2-4.
