Demonstrating Our Love for God
Jesus told us that the greatest commandment is that we love the Lord our God totally and completely with all of our heart, soul, and mind. I wonder if we know how to demonstrate that love for God? It is supposed to be much more than an emotion of affection for Him. Our love is our choice to put Him and His desires before our own. God wants us to be like Him, so when we love Him, we will serve the ones He serves, and we will do it continually. (Hebrews 6:10) That loving service will please God so much. He will never forget it.
Christmas is all about God serving humanity. Jesus came to be born in a humble cattle stall, so He could take on human flesh, while remaining to be God. That way, He could pay for our sins, which was the greatest service ever. He did for us what we could never do for ourselves. Now, when we love Him, we will serve the saints with the same love He poured out for us. For that matter, we will love everyone with His love and serve them well. That is the way we demonstrate that we have genuine love for the Lord. I pray that we will excel in this service at Christmas and all year long. God will never forget what we have done.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Hebrews 7-9.
