The Earth was Divided

Earlier this year our family traveled to Kentucky to see the replica of the ark and the creation museum. It was a great trip, and I highly recommend it to everyone. There is a lot of information given there about how God created the world, and how the flood was used by God to purge the world of evil. Of course, only Noah and his family lived through the flood. They built the ark, and they gathered two of every animal to be safe in the ark, so they could repopulate the earth after the flood. Some people wonder how Noah could do that, since the continents are separated by great oceans now. However, in Noah's day the earth's land was all connected. It was not until a generation after the flood that the land was divided into the continents. (I Chronicles 1:19) This is another one of those little known facts that the Bible presents, and that science has shown to be true.

The crust of the earth was cracked open to allow the water in the center to flood out, as well as, rain falling from the sky for 40 days to flood the earth. The crust was thus broken up into huge plates with cracks between them. It is along those cracks that most of the earthquakes happen all around the world today. However, the cracks did not open up to divide the land masses until the days of Peleg, one of Noah's grandsons. That gave the people time to spread out and repopulate all of the areas of the world. God is so wise, and His plan was perfect. It is amazing to us when we see all of the details that He is carrying out all of the time.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 2-4.
