Faithful King Hezekiah
Hezekiah was the most faithful king that the southern kingdom of Judah ever had. That is quite a testimony. His father was a very evil king, but Hezekiah did everything that Moses commanded in the law of God. Nothing kept Hezekiah from following the Lord, not even the imminent attack of a powerful enemy. (II Kings 18:5,6) I believe we can all learn from Hezekiah, so that we can be known for our faithfulness, too.
Hezekiah relied on God, not on himself. He did not do what He thought was right, but he went to the Lord in prayer and He followed what God said. He did this in spite of the fact that the kings around him and the people around him were unfaithful to the Lord. He was not concerned with what others were doing or saying, just the Lord. He kept being faithful to the Lord and did not turn from following Him. He did this day after day, week after week, month after month. He just focused on the Word of God, and he did whatever the Bible said. Now, if we do all of these same things today, we can be known for our faithfulness, too. However, it is up to us. What will we do?
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 19-22.
