Two Ways to Shine in Heaven
Daniel wraps up his prophecy with a description of the Tribulation and the second coming of Christ. He refers to the ones who will be taken to heaven and those who will not. Then, he makes an extraordinary statement about two groups who will shine brightly for eternity. (Daniel 12:3) Are you included in one of these two groups?
The first group will shine "brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven." The people in that group are set apart because of their wisdom or insight. These are the people who applied themselves to knowing the mind of God through His Word, so they have great insight into truth and reality. When we find a person like that today, they are very valuable. God knows that, and they will be commended to others in heaven by their brightness. The second group that will shine "like the stars forever and ever" will be those who lead many to righteousness. Of course, that applies to winning people to Christ, but it could also be that these people have helped others live righteous lives. Either way, these are disciple makers by making new disciples or by leading people to be more mature disciples. I pray that we will make it our goal in life to glorify the Lord Jesus in the way the Lord has designed us and gifted us. That will make life very worthwhile for us and for others.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Hosea 2-4.
