One Key to Answered Prayer
Daniel saw various visions that he did not understand, so he was troubled. He asked God to show him the meaning of the visions, and what was going to happen in the world. God was quick to answer his supplications. (Daniel 9:23) The reason might surprise you, but it is very clear.
The angel Gabriel was dispatched to deliver the information Daniel requested. In fact, he was sent "at the beginning" of the supplications. God knew his heart and his mind, so He did not need to wait to send the answer. However, I believe this verse shows us the key to Daniel receiving the answer to his questions and receiving it quickly. Gabriel told Daniel that he was sent to tell Daniel, "You are highly esteemed." That fact is mentioned twice in this chapter. God saw the holiness and righteousness of His servant Daniel, and he was so pure and set on the Lord, that God highly esteemed him. That is why God chose to send the answer so quickly. He knew Daniel, and He knew Daniel would do the right thing when he had his questions answered. What a compliment from the Lord! I wonder if He can say that about any of us? That should be a goal in our lives.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Daniel 11-12 and Hosea 1.
