Jesus is King
People have many differing views of Jesus. Some see Him as a teacher or a prophet. Others think He was a very good man, but nothing else. Still, others deny his very existence. However, Jesus did live as the God/Man on this earth for about 33 years. He was crucified, and He arose from the grave and death. He was given a name that is above every name, that all people would bow before Him and declare that Jesus is Lord. Now, Jesus has been given all authority, and He is King over His everlasting kingdom. Those who trust Him, even now, are citizens of His domain, and He will forever be our King. God gave Daniel a vision in the night, showing him these truths hundreds of years before Jesus was born into this world. (Daniel 7:13,14) This is proof of His life and His kingship.
Daniel was a great prophet who received messages from the Lord to deliver to the people of his time and to record for us today and for those after us. He foresaw the coming of Jesus and the second coming of Jesus, when He will come to set up His kingdom on the earth for 1,000 years and then to establish it in heaven forever. It was impossible for Daniel to make this up. It had to be the Lord's revelation to him for him to know these details so far in advance. God used Daniel to prepare the way for Jesus and to prepare our hearts to trust Jesus as Lord or King of our lives forever. I pray that all of us know Him as our King, and if not, you will surrender to Him in faith today.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Daniel 8-10.
