He set My Feet upon a Rock

As we learned already, God delivers the righteous out of all of their afflictions. Then, what? What should we do when God lifts us out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and sets our feet upon a rock? (Psalm 40:2,3) David tells us what he did in these verses, and I believe it is exactly what God would have all of us to do when that happens to us.

When we get back on solid footing in life, we should be quick to sing a new song of praise to our God based on how He delivered us from the pit and the miry clay. When we go through such an experience, we learn some new things about the Lord and His faithfulness. The least we can do is express our praise loudly to those around us in word and in song. That will lead to another fantastic result of our deliverance. Many will see what God has done. They will hear our song and our story of praise to God. Then, they will fear and trust in the Lord. It is a great witness to those who doubt God. They can see exactly what God has done for us, and how we have a godly attitude in the midst of our trial and afterward, too. Let's decide to be that type of praising witnesses to all with whom we have contact and see what happens next.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 41-43.
