O Love the Lord !

I have found that there are many people who fail to love the Lord. There are many Christians who put all of their effort into obeying the Lord or trusting the Lord, but they forget that we are to love Him first. David gave us just such an admonition at a time in his life when everything was not going well. (Psalm 31:23,24) He did not want to forget, and he did not want others to forget either. Then, once we love Him as we should, we can do the other things that are so important with the highest motivation.

Love is greater than faith and hope. (I Corinthians 13) They are all important, but they must be kept in proper perspective. If we fail to love the Lord fully, we will find it hard to trust Him. Love must be the foundation of our faith in Him and our obedience to Him. It is much easier to trust someone we love fully. In fact, we are quick to trust and serve the ones we love. These two are the basis of a godly relationship with God. Then, we can persevere when things don't go well, and we can trust that God will recompense those who proudly contend with us. Also, we can stay strong in the Lord with courage in our hearts to face whatever comes our way. We do this with hope that comes from seeing His grace to preserve our lives day by day. Since He cares for us who love Him so well here, we have a sure hope of His future blessings in heaven,

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 32-34.
