God's Sovereign Power
God is the Creator of all, and He is Lord of all. He has all wisdom and all power, so He can and does do whatever He likes. We must respect His authority and power, or we will be broken by it. That is what God showed Ezekiel. (Ezekiel 17:24) Let's consider what God told him.
God can bring down those who are high and exalt the lowly. He can dry up those who are flourishing and cause the dying to flourish again. He is the Lord, so what He speaks will happen. Do we know that God is the boss, the sovereign king over all? If we do, we will not fight Him. We will obey Him, and pray for His will to be done in our lives.
Too many people want to ignore God and do things their own way. They may flourish for a time, but if they reject God, He will bring them down. Then, there are those with low self esteem, but God lifts them up, because they humbly trust Him. God blesses the most unlikely people at times, because He decides to empower them. He does not need a great reason. He can do whatever He pleases. Let's honor Him as the Sovereign King of all, and let's worship and obey Him forever.
