The Prayer of the Upright
Religion is an abomination to God. He delights in the prayer of the upright. (Proverbs 15:8) Religion is just doing things to be right with God, even though there may be wickedness or sin in the heart. However, prayer is talking with God in a personal relationship with Him. God's delight is an upright person who shares his or her heart with the Lord in prayer.
Remember, God is looking at our hearts. Until we have our hearts cleansed by the blood of Christ, our hearts are wicked. God sees the wickedness, and He wants to cleanse it. However, we must choose to repent and trust Christ, so we can be forgiven once and for all. Then, we can pray from an upright heart. God loves to hear His children pray, and He loves to respond. That is His delight.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Proverbs 16-19.
