His Understanding Is Infinite

Infinity and eternity are difficult concepts for us to comprehend as finite human beings. However, it should not surprise those of us who know the Lord to read that God's understanding is infinite. (Psalm 147:4,5) After all, our eternal God who created the vastness of the universe, which is still expanding every second, would have to have infinite understanding to be in control of all things. Consider what the psalmist said.

God counts the number of the stars. How many stars are there? No human being even comes close to knowing the number of stars, because we are so limited, we can't even see all of them. If we could, we do not have numbering systems to enumerate all of them. However, God has also named each and every star. That shows His intimate involvement with each one. He birthed them, so He named them, too.

Our Lord is so great and mighty in power that we can't imagine His glory. However, we know that there is no end to His wisdom and understanding of all created things. That doesn't just mean the stars. It means us, too. God knows everything about you, and He still loves you. He gave Himself to die for you, so that you could live with Him for eternity in heaven. Please, don't let the fact that you can't comprehend all of God keep you from trusting Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 150 and Proverbs 1-2.
