Respect for the Holy One
Many people say they believe in God. However, they do not really believe, because they do not respect Him. They disrespect Him by worshiping all types of idols. There is coming a day, when people will respect God, because He will reveal Himself to them. (Isaiah 17:7,8) However, then it may be too late to believe in Him.
It is evident from God's creation and from human nature that there is One True, All-wise, and All-powerful God who created everything in the universe. People who do not want to believe in Him think up all sorts of reasons that He does not exist. They would rather serve the creation rather than the Creator. (Romans 1:18-32) Even Christians fall prey to idolatry. They get led away by their desires, so that they end up giving their time and allegiance to other things besides their Lord Jesus Christ. In both cases it shows a lack of respect for God. If we respect God, we will give Him all of our worship and obedience every day. We will not ignore Him or turn to anything else but Him.
Philippians 2:5-11 shows us what will ultimately happen. Because Jesus came to earth, the God/Man, taking the form of a servant and dying the most horrible death possible for us on the Cross, God the Father honored Him by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand. One day, every knee will bow to Him and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. However, for those who wait and do not trust Him in repentance and faith before they die, it will be too late. He will announce to them depart from Me, I never knew you. (Matthew 7:21-23)
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 21-23.
