Bringing Evil on Ourselves

Some people want to blame God for everything bad that happens. Usually, we bring the evil upon ourselves by rebelling against the Lord. Since He is holy, He must punish sin. That is what happened to God's people in Judah and Jerusalem, and it is what is happening to us today. (Isaiah 3:8,9) Look for these signs which were mentioned by the prophet Isaiah and see if they are not prevalent today.

Our tongue is against the Lord. There are so many people who speak about the Lord Jesus and against the things of the Lord. Then, they do not just talk about it, they do things against the Lord. They fight against prayer and the Bible. They blaspheme Jesus, and they try to ban any mention of Him in public places. Even the look on our faces is one of pride and rebellion against the Lord and His ways. All of these things cause evil to be brought on us.

We do not even try to hide our sins, but our sins are like Sodom. They are done in the open, on TV, and on the Internet for all to see. This blatant sin is the cause of the evil that is coming upon us. It is not the Lord doing it. We are doing it to ourselves. If God did not punish our sin which is so obvious, He would be encouraging people to sin more.  The only solution is to repent of our sins and turn to the Lord.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 4-6.
