Their Blossom will Ascend like Dust
God has made so many beautiful flowers, as well as other wonderful plants of all kinds. I love to walk through the woods or through a field looking at the glory of God's creation. A few days ago Chris and I took her mother with us to see a beautiful place called Gibbs's Gardens. It was filled with all kinds of lovely flowers and trees. However, some of the day lilies were past their prime, and the blossoms were dried up. It will not be long before they just disintegrate into dust, and they are gone. That is what God says will happen to any group of people who reject His laws and despise His Word. (Isaiah 5:24) It is a sad end for any people.
That is what we see happening to our nation right before our eyes. Many of us can remember when our country was growing stronger and stronger economically and technologically. However, when we began to reject the laws of God and practice the opposite, thinking we were smarter than God, things began to fall apart. The bloom came off of the rose. Now the root is rotten, so it may not be long before we see the fire devour the stubble and chaff of our once great and good nation.
The one remedy is to return to the Lord and to His Word. Then, we could see the green of new growth sprout up and the flower return to full bloom. I pray for that to happen, and I hope we will all join together to pray for our country in that way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 7-9.
