Love is Priceless
Everyone is searching for true love, but only a few find it. It is so misunderstood that many people are looking for it in the wrong places. Some people actually think they can buy love, but that is absurd. (Song of Solomon 8:7) True love is eternal, and it is priceless. (I Corinthians 13:4-8) Therefore, it is one of the most precious things anyone can have.
Since love is a decision that leads to a commitment, it will never die. Many waters cannot quench it, nor can the floods drown it out. If it was just a feeling, it could be quenched. If it was simply a physical attraction, it could be drown out. However, since true love comes from the very character of God, it cannot pass away.
There is no price that could be paid for love, because it is not a commodity to be bought or sold. That would cheapen it. It is a priceless relationship between two people that results in selfless giving to each other. This is true for our love of people, and it is true for our love of the Lord. Jesus gave Himself for us, because of His great love for us. Now we love Him, so we give ourselves to Him with abandon. The result is that we love Him more every day, and nothing can change that forever.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 1-3.
