Seeking God, but Not Finding Him

We might think that God is so gracious and kind that any time anyone seeks Him that He reveals Himself to them or answers their prayers. However, that is not the case, because even God's grace has its limits. Solomon told us why this happens in some instances. (Proverbs 1:28,29,31) It is easy to understand, so we all need to be aware of how God works.

When God reveals Himself to us constantly. and we reject Him over and over again, He sees that our hearts do not really want to know Him. Also, when we have His Word, and we have heard good teaching on how to live, but we reject this knowledge and go our own way, God lets us go. When we do not fear or respect the Lord enough to listen to Him and do what He tells us, He does not push Himself on us. Then, if we hit a snag in life because we have rejected Him, His Word, and respecting Him, He allows us to eat the fruits of our own ways and to be filled with what we fancied to be the best. Hopefully this will teach us a lesson, and next time, we will listen to His Word and fear Him, as we should.

I believe after He has given us time, God will answer us, if we continue to seek Him. The key to finding Him is to repent of our sin of rejecting Him and His Word, and to fully express our respect for Him in humility. When God sees our sincerity, and He knows we have really learned our lesson from eating the bitter fruits of our own way, then, He will be found and answer us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Proverbs 3-5.
