An Unthinkable Sin
I am sorry I have to write this today, but some things must be said. There are some sins that are just beyond reason and killing children is one of them. King Ahaz was an evil king of Judah who practiced the sins of the kings of the northern kingdom of Israel. The Bible says that "he made his son pass through the fire." (II Kings 16:3) I can't imagine such a sin, but people in America do the same or worse many times every day.
Ahaz watched as his son was roasted on the arms of a bronze statute filled with fire. He did this to appease a god and to gain some blessing for himself. Of course, Satan just laughed, and Ahaz did not get anything except punishment for his sin. Satan is still laughing, as people abort their babies, because they think their lives will be better without them. In essence, they kill their child, so they do not have to spend the time and money raising the child, and they can do whatever they please to bring more pleasure to themselves. This is an unthinkable sin.
Saturday morning we will have The Run For The Bun, a 5k race/walk to benefit the Henry County Pregnancy Resource Center, because each one of those buns in the oven is precious to God. None of them are an inconvenience to God, and His desire is to see each one grow up and live a godly life. The ministry of the PRC is to help children live and lives to be saved by the grace of God. Would you join me in praying for the PRC of Henry County? If God leads you, you can even make a contribution to this ministry. http://www.prchc.org/run-for-the-bun/
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 17-20.
