Innocent Blood
God puts the highest value on human life. It is sacred in that God made every individual in His image, so that we are His special creation. He hates for innocent people to be put to death. Jeremiah and the prophets of the Old Testament spoke against shedding innocent blood, and they warned of the curse that comes on a nation of people who shed innocent blood.(Jeremiah 26:15) America is guilty of innocent blood because of abortion and other practices in which we do not value human life. We need to repent of this sin and stop anything that devalues human life.
It is sad that our culture values baby eagles and other animals more than innocent unborn babies. However, the blame is on believers for this lack of understanding and murder of innocents. We can't expect people who think we evolved from chemicals to value life. To them, all life is accidental and random. We must show them God's love and truth, so that they see God and His creation in the right way. I know it is an uphill challenge, but it is worth it to rid our land of innocent blood. I pray that each of us will do what we can to support our local Pregnancy Resource Centers and to promote policies that lead to the sanctity of human life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 29-31.
