God's Word Shall Stand

Many critics and enemies have tried to get rid of God's Word over the centuries, but all have failed. Just like when King Jehoiakim burned the scroll of God's Word to Jeremiah to try to get rid of it, God made sure that another copy of His Word was made, because His Word will stand forever.(Jeremiah 36:32) Men can't destroy the eternal, living Word of God, but they will continue to try to ignore it and oppose it without success. God's Word is very special.

God inspired the people who wrote His Word, like He inspired Jeremiah to have Baruch write down the words that God had given him. The inspiration of the Bible means that God "breathed" His Word into those men, so that what was written was God's Words, not their own words. Because they were inspired, the Bible is inerrant. It does not contradict itself, and when we understand it correctly, it speaks truth in every area of life. It always leads us in the right direction, too, so we say that it is infallible. What a treasure for us to have a written copy of the very Word of God. We should cherish it and share it, no matter how many enemies rise against it. God can and will preserve His Word for us, so that people can hear the truth and enter a personal relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 38-41.
