Crucified with Christ
Jesus said it Himself. There must be a death before new life comes. A seed dies. Then, it springs forth as a new living plant. That was Paul's personal testimony in Galatians 2:20. Paul died with Christ, and he was alive because Christ came to live in him. That is the testimony of every believer who knows Christ.
The Bible says it in a lot of ways, but it is clear what happens. The old man or woman dies.(Romans 6) The old person we were before salvation in Christ was ruled by the sinful nature. Now, the sinful nature was put to death by Jesus when He died for our sins. Therefore, that old person is dead, and we become new. Our life is no longer from the sinful nature of Adam, but it is from the holy nature of Christ. He is our life, so we live by faith in Him, who loved us and gave Himself for us. What a miracle!
I have said it over and over. Christianity is not a religion or a philosophy, in which we simply change how we act or how we think. It is a relationship with Jesus, in which He lives in us, and becomes our life. Anything less is not Biblical Christianity.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Galatians 3-5.
