Prophesying with Harp, Stringed Instruments, and Cymbals
What will the music be like at your worship time today? How will they prophesy with instruments and voices? That is why David set apart 280 people to lead the service in God's House. They were speaking or singing forth God's Word. That is prophesying. They were exempt from military service, and that was their sole responsibility.(I Chronicles 25:1)
Most of the time I think we fail to try to learn the Word of God from the songs we sing. In David's time they sang psalms that he and others were inspired to write. They are recorded in the Bible. Now, we do the same thing, but we don't think about how we are proclaiming God's Word through music. When we sing something, it sticks in our hearts. When we sing, it moves us in a special way. We need to engage our minds and our hearts when we sing, so that we do not fail to receive the message God intends for us. Try it today and every Lord's Day, as you worship the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 28-29 and II Chronicles 1.
