Seek Out All the Commandments of the Lord
Human nature is to do as little as possible just to get by. God's way is exactly the opposite. He commands us to seek out all of His commandments, so we can do everything, not just some of His will. He knows the results of this seeking will be wonderful.(I Chronicles 28:8) This was true in King David's day, and it is true for us.
What do you spend your time seeking? Maybe, you are looking for more money, a better job, happiness in your family, good physical health, or just some rest. None of these things compare to seeking out God's way of doing everything. If you will do life His way, all of these other things will work out well.
Remember what Jesus said, "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."(Matthew 6:33) It amazing how Jesus agrees with David, and David agreed with Jesus 1,000 years before Jesus came to earth. God's Word is consistent and true. Human nature doesn't change over history, and God never changes. He is the King over all, and we will have the best life possible by seeking out His commands and being diligent to obey each one. Then, our Beneficent Ruler will grant us all of the things we need, and we can pass them on to our children. If we try to do it our way, we lose everything. Believe me, it is worth the time and effort to seek Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 2-4.
