Loyalty to God
Loyalty is not a common character quality today. People tend to switch their allegiances often, based on what will profit them at that time. God is looking for people who are being loyal to Him, and when He finds them, He works on their behalf using His awesome strength.(II Chronicles 16:9) What an advantage this is for any person facing the challenges of life!
I have observed that people tend to feel that God has not been loyal to them, and He is not working on their behalf. They pray, and they do not get what they want, so they are angry with God like King Asa was. They only want to be loyal when things are going well for them. That is not how loyalty with God works. Please, remember He is Lord. We are loyal to Him just because of who He is, and because we know His great love and care for us. We do not expect Him to do our will. Then, we would be God, not Him. We are to be loyal to Him, even if He calls on us to suffer or to die for Him, because we know He always has the best plan and purposes for us.
It boils down to a simple choice. Will we decide to be loyal to Jesus Christ, our Lord, no matter what happens to us or what He calls us to do? If we show that constant loyalty, He will show His constant power in our lives, so that we have the strength to do whatever we face in life. What will it be for you?
