Good Morning, Lord!
David was committed to looking up to the Lord every morning.(Psalm 5:3) He told the Lord to expect to hear his voice in the morning. He began his day by looking up. This is the right way for every believer to start the day.
I know some people are not "morning people." That is not the point. The point is that we all need the Lord to lead us and empower us every day. We are to live by faith in Him, not in our own strength. Therefore, if we trust Him and know we need Him, we will begin our day by looking up and speaking with our Lord.
Some people say, "Good Lord, its morning." They wake up in a bad mood. They get off on the wrong foot, because they go by feelings, and they let the stresses of life dictate how they live. When we live like that, Jesus is not Lord. Our problems and our stress are ruling our lives, instead of Jesus.
Others say, "Good morning, Lord!" They report for duty, and they rely on Him for direction and power to do His will. They lay all their cares before Him, because He cares for us. They find mercy and grace to help in time of need. Their attitude is lifted, because God assures them that He is able to handle their problems, if they will just trust Him.
What a difference the morning can make!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 6-8.
