Wisdom and Understanding
Job did not know why he was having to go through so much pain and suffering, but he knew exactly where to get wisdom and understanding. It was hard for him to wait for God's answer in God's timing, but he knew it would eventually come, because God is faithful. How can you tell if you have wisdom and understanding? Job tells us all the answer to that important question.(Job 28:28)
Do you have a healthy fear of the Lord? If so, you have wisdom. If you only do what God tells you to do in His Word and things that are according to His character which you have seen as you have walked with Him, then you have wisdom. It is that simple really. All wisdom comes from God, so we have wisdom when we do things His way. Also, you can tell if you have understanding. Do you depart from evil? It is not enough to try to do what is right. We must hate evil so much that we stay as far away from it as we can. That shows we have understanding, because we know that sin destroys. It is not something to be taken lightly.
I hope this simple test from Job's words helps you today. Life is so much better when we have wisdom and understanding.
