Gloria De Dios!
I just returned from a week long mission trip to San Pedro de Marcoris in the Dominican Republic. Phil Covone and I were training the Iglesia Bautista Nueva Palestina in the Training For Trainers (T4T) process of multiplying disciples and home groups. We were accompanied by our prayer warriors, Rosa Hill and Shirley Wells. The church responded well to the training, and we are praying for them to see a great church planting movement in the Dominican Republic, starting from this praying and praising body of believers.
Whenever I get back from a trip to a third world country, I am especially thankful for all that God has given to me and to my family.(Deuteronomy 26:11) However, we should all rejoice in all that God has given us all of the time. Praise to God and thankfulness for what He has done for us are special virtues to be cultivated by all believers. The believers we were with this week exuded these virtues even though they live under very difficult circumstances.
One phrase they repeat over and over is "gloria de Dios." Of course, it means "glory to God." God deserves all of the glory, the credit, for all we have. Without Him we would not have life and health. We would have none of the abilities we have to work and to make money. He always gives us more than we deserve, and His mercy endures forever. Gloria de Dios!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 28-31.
