Making Difficult Decisions
Life is full of decisions, and many of them are very difficult to make. Often, there is a clash between logic and emotion. We usually get burned when we go with our emotions, and we neglect to do the logical thing. However, it all boils down to mature decision making skills.
How do we know what to decide in a situation where the answer is not easy? There are a couple of ways. We can look for principles in God's Word. There may not be a direct command for the situation we are facing. However, there are principles that can be applied to various situations that can help us. Also, we consider the character of God. What decision is in line with His character? This helps us set priorities, so that we follow the highest priority in any situation. Usually when we look for these three things we can see the right thing to do.
The Bible says that we ought to make every decision based on faith in God. If we do not believe it is what He wants us to do, or we have doubts about what we should do, we should stop. He will show us if we are open to knowing the right thing to do.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 21-24.
