Courageous
Last night we had a banquet for our Henry Baptist Association pastors and wives at Glenhaven Baptist Church. It was a very nice dinner, and it is always a blessing to spend time with other pastors in fellowship. The main purpose of the evening was to allow our new Associational Missionary, Dr. Ray Gentry, to share his vision with us as he begins his ministry here. He is an extraordinary servant of the Lord, and I know he will be an excellent missionary for our churches. I pray for him daily, and I would encourage those of you who live in our area to do the same.
The banquet concluded with a presentation about the upcoming movie "Courageous." It is the newest release from the folks at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. They are the ones who made "Fireproof" and "Facing the Giants." This new movie is to encourage fathers to fill their role with integrity and faith in the Lord and to love and to lead their children and families well. It was amazing to see what they had done to accomplish this. I highly recommend that you make plans to see it beginning on September 30, 2011 and that you get as many others as you can to see it with you.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 25-28.
