God's Blessings For America
I hope all of you had a wonderful celebration of our freedom in America this Fourth of July. It is great to live in a country that has freedom of speech and religion. I want God to continue to bless the USA in a bountiful way. I do have some serious concerns, though. I would encourage all of us to read Deuteronomy 27-28 and consider the relevance to our present situation.
The Israelites were about to enter the Promised Land. God told them to have a ceremony when they entered the land to dramatize their need to obey Him. He told them to separate the tribes into two groups, one group on Mount Ebal to announce the curses that would follow disobedience to God's commands, the other group on Mount Gerizim to announce the blessings of God for obeying Him. It is a sobering list that reveals God's priorities and His ways of punishing the sins of a nation. Read the lists and see if you think God is upset with the USA. Then, pray to the Lord confessing our sins and asking Him to heal our land.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 32-33 and Acts 14.
