Hiding from God
When I was a kid, we played hide and seek. It was a lot of fun. It was even more fun when we could play it in the dark. We could get in a very dark place, and it seemed like we would never be found. However, often we would still be found, because it is very hard to hide from others, even in the dark. So just think how hard it would be to hide from God.
God gave Ezekiel a vision of all the abominations that were going on in the Temple in Jerusalem. (Ezekiel 8:12) Then, he asked the prophet if he saw what the elders of the house of Israel were doing in the dark, each man in the rooms of his carved images? He told Ezekiel they they were saying that the Lord doesn't see us and He has abandoned the land. Of course, God could see them, and He had not abandoned the land. They were deceiving themselves.
A lot of times the devil convinces us that we can hide from God. We get to the point where we think that we can do things in the dark and no one will know about them. That makes us think that we can escape any bad consequences for our sinful actions, but we can't. Sin is sin, even if no one else ever knows about it, and God sees everything.
We need to stop deceiving ourselves and be honest with the Lord. We need to confess our sins to Him and be fully transparent with Him about the sins that are giving us trouble. Then, we need to ask for the Lord to deliver us from these things by the power of the Spirit. We must stop trying to hide. It doesn't do any good. The sins will still hurt us. However, if we bring them into the light and tell God, He can wipe them away for good.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 9-12.
