Forgiven
One of the most satisfying feelings that we can ever experience is to be completely forgiven for something we have done. When we have sinned against another person, and then we are forgiven by them, our relationship is restored and often better than it was before. This is the kind of forgiveness that God gives us, and it is what He wants us to give to others.
God told the people of Israel this truth in the days of Ezekiel after they had committed so many terrible sins against Him. (Ezekiel 16:62-63) He assured the people that He would establish His covenant with them, so they would know He was the Lord, and so that they would remember and be shamed and not open their mouths again because of their disgrace, once He had forgiven them for all they had done.
We have all sinned terribly. Yes, even if we were saved at a young age, we had sinned against Almighty God in our words and actions. We were guilty of those sins, and we deserved His punishment. However, most of us had done far more than that before we came to the Lord and He established His covenant with us.
Now, we should be ashamed of how we sinned in the past, but there is no need for us to open our mouth any more. We need to realize that all of that is behind us now, since God has forgiven us with His perfect, eternal forgiveness. Now, we can rest in the fact that we have a solid relationship with our Loving Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
