The Creator of All Things

 God is the Creator. He made everything out of nothing. He is the Only One who has the power to create things in that way. All we can do is to take what God has made and use it to make other things. Because God is the Creator, He owns everything in the universe. He can and does do with it whatever He wants with it.

When God was upset with His people, He gave them a message through Jeremiah. (Jeremiah 27:5) He let the people know that He had made the earth, mankind, and the animals, everything on the face of the earth. He did this by His great power and by His outstretched arm, so He will give it to whoever is pleasing in His sight. Let's see what we can learn from this today.

We are working hard to provide for our family. It takes long hours of work and of saving the money we earn to get to a place where we have enough for our family and for the future. If we are trying to do this all on our own, we are missing this great truth. If we are pleasing to God in what we do and how we do it, God will give us of His creation.

Therefore, we are to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, then all the things we need will be provided for us. (Matthew 6:33) That is what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, but it is the same basic message as what God told Jeremiah. We must always put the Lord first. We must seek His kingdom and live in righteousness before Him. Then, He will bless our work so that we have the things we need for our life.
