Standing in the Council of the Lord

 I can only imagine what it will be like to stand in the presence of the Lord in heaven. What a glorious day that will be. We will see the throne of God, and we will hear Him speak. We will see Jesus standing by the throne in all His glory. We will be able to come close to Him and all of the holy angels in God's presence.

Of course, we are not in heaven with the Lord yet. However, Jeremiah asked us some important questions. (Jeremiah 23:18) "But who has stood in the council of the Lord that he should see and hear His word? Who has paid attention to His word and listened? We need to ask ourselves these two questions. 

Yes, we can enter the council of the Lord right now. We can approach the throne of God in prayer and worship now. We can see His Word with our spiritual eyes, and we can hear His Word speaking to our hearts. This is not just something we can do. It is something we should do every day in our devotional time, our "unhurried time."

As believers, we are blessed by God to be able to hear from Him and have the Spirit to show us His Word. We must not allow this great privilege to be neglected. We need to spend time in quietness, paying attention to God. We need to sit before Him as we read His Word and pray, listening for God to speak to us. Then, we need to obey Him in whatever He says to us.
