Like Clay in God's Hands

I don't think we appreciate the power of God in our lives as we should. We are trying to be successful in our lives. We are trying to do what will make us happy. However, those things can lead us away from the Lord, instead of bringing us closer to Him. What we really need are His blessings on our lives. Then, we will have more than we need.

Jeremiah was told to go to the potter's house and watch him mold the clay into household vessels. He saw that he could make whatever he wanted to make, and he could start over at any point and make something else out of the clay. (Jeremiah 18:6) Then God said to Jeremiah and the people, "Am I not able to deal with you as the potter does?" Of course, He can. So God reminded them they were like clay in potter's hand, because they were in His hand. We need to remember this truth.

We do not have the power to make ourselves what we ought to be. We are not smart enough or strong enough. God is the Great Potter. We are just the clay He created. We must yield to Him and allow Him to mold us into a beautiful vessel for His use. When we do this, there is no limit to what God can do in us and through us

We must not think that we have sinned so much that there is no hope for us. That is Satan's lie. God can take us and start over on us. He can make us into a masterpiece. After all, it is not the clay that matters as much as what the Potter can make of His clay. I pray we will stop going our own way and allow God to do His perfect will in our life.
